They're making a Gargoyle movie. As in, the second (hell, third) string character/blatant rip-off of Jack Kirby's Demon who basically was in the Defenders late in the series to pretend it wasn't an X-book. They're making a movie out of this guy.

Shit.

If HBO announces a Scourge mini-series, I'm out of here.

If I tell everyone I'm not really a real person, I'm a comic-book character, do you think they'll make a movie about me?

A Scourge miniseries might be cool for the in-jokiness alone. Like Aeon Flux, kinda.

Sadly, [livejournal.com profile] cassielsander always liked the Defenders, and thought Gargoyle was particularly cool. It pissed him off when they killed off everyone who was in the way so X-Factor could re-form. I think it was X-Factor. I was never a big Marvel-head.

And don't worry, 99 out of 100 proposed comic-book movies never get off the ground anyway.

I want them to make a Gargoyles movie. With the original team who handled the Fox animated series before the franchise got sold to ABC, who ruined it in about three episodes.

I'd settle for the old Tick series on DVD.

"So, Kellinator. At last we meet again. Drop the disintegrator ray or we...roll the cameras."

"No, Fruitfly Boy! You wouldn't dare!"

"Try me, bitch. One false move and you're straight-to-video!"

Actually, the Gargoyle was on the team well before Iceman and Angel, and probably before the Beast. He and Valkryie (sp?) stuck around after the founding four members left... I seem to recall him being more or less Daimon Hellstorm's bitch in Warren Ellis' run on Hellstorm, Prince of Lies.

I thought you were talking about Gargoyles - as in Goliath, Hudson, and the gang- for a second and got all excited.

Damn you for toying with my emotions!!!
