Just got the latest GA Ren Faire email. It includes a list of new foods, including:

MACARONI AND CHEESE ON A STICK! Cheesy balls of pasta are fried and skewered on a stick for a rich and scrumptious new taste treat!

Umm. Yeah.

They've also got The King's Weenie (footlong hotdogs) and Empenadas on the agenda this year.

Not that the Ren Fest is all about food or anything. But as they say in the email,
Remember it's the Renaissance and calories haven't been invented yet!

Erm, as far as I know neither had macaroni and cheese balls on a stick. Heh.

*grin* I wonder if R&J is the cause of the GA Ren People adding it to their menu. "If one more person asks why we don't serve the Macaroni on a Stick seen in R&J, I'll give up on any semblence of authenticity and we'll just do it."

Two minutes later: "Excuse me, why don't you serve ..."

hee hee

macaroni and cheese on a stick? I know this is one of the staples at the State Fair up here, but I haven't seen it at our faire *yet*.

But that sounds really good right now...or fried cheese curds.

Damn, and they have them at the MoA.

Didn't you know that putting anything on a stick makes it medieval?

Mmmm, deep fried Mac and Cheese.

Ren Faires are about food. The costumes are just something to drop hot grease on. And swords make dandy mutton choppers.
