Major thanks to melvh for her bday gift -- a crème brûlée blowtorch! Anything that combines two of my true loves (pyromania and cooking) is a good thing.
When libidoergosum called you about 20 minutes ago, we were walking back from a trip to CostPlus World Market.
While we were there:
L: "You know what I need?" B: "What?" L: "A crème brûlée blowtorch." B: "Um, okay. Why?" L: "Because they have crème brûlée mix over there." B: "Oh. Cool!"
wow. too bad I'm leaving today. Creme brulee is my most *favorite* dessert in the world. Lavender creme brulee is the pinacle, though a good chocolate one is a creamy bit of heaven that leaves me rather weak in the knees. Maybe the next time I am out a-visiting, I'll be able to sample your wares? Hey, is creme brulee atkins???
Anyways, just wanted to say hi and that I added you! *waves*
I suspect it's the opposite of Atkins, but there will be days when I just say the Hell with Atkins. And once I get some fuel for the torch, I may have to have one of those days. :-) I'll hopefully have perfected the recipe by the time you next visit!
Hey, just catching up on old correspondence, and it occurred to me... I will be there in about a month? Any news on good creme brulle recipes??? Inquiring minds wanna know!!! ;)
