Tuesday TV thoughts
May. 7th, 2003 06:35 amMild spoilers:
Buffy:
A decent episode. Nothing to complain about (I mean, lots of sex, some violence -- what else do you need?). But it still felt kinda slow. I got a kick out of seeing the Fray axe (which I've christened Axecalibur), especially since our copy of Fray #7 arrived yesterday.
Smallville:
Gee. Did anyone not figure out the plot about six minutes in? Other than seeing the janitor from Scrubs in a different role, there wasn't much about this that was memorable. Lana almost emoted a few times. And she almost drowned. Big deal. As with last week's ep, the only watchable moments involved Lionel.
Gilmore Girls:
Okay, now we're talking. The Lane plotline actually becomes dangerously close to being the A-plot. And it's still a damned good plot. I'm really hoping Dave is a regular cast member next year (have they addressed Lane's college plans yet?). Jess's dad is as annoying as Jess, but dumber. What a shock. I bet he steals comics from people and scribbles in the margin. And the inn plotline, aside from the over-the-top scene with the casket, is a lot more interesting than any of the plotlines involving Max. Paris was dropped to c-level, but at least she wasn't a caricature this episode.
Overall, I can't say I'm as excited about Tuesdays as I used to be.

Did you see the coat of sexy? The tea party of evil? If you ignore the Lana bits (as I always do) then it wasn't completely horrible.
