Lesson learned
May. 17th, 2003 02:04 pmSo, today's lesson: Don't order the Sirloin Stack at Chili's. Why? Well, first, the steak is about as thin as the section on gambling in The Book of Virtues. And almost as tasty. And, possibly because it's too thin, they need about four tries to actually cook the thing medium rare (hint -- if it's brown, it's overcooked).
To be fair, our waitress was great about it, and Elayna's chicken fingers were fine.
Otherwise, this morning consisted of dropping Elayna off at her Karate class while I ran errands. Deposited checks, bought sugar and coffee, checked the PO Box, etc. Then, with time to spare, I hit CVS. And they had some nifty $9.99 DVDs, including The Whole Nine Yards and the Cathy Rigby Peter Pan. I got both of 'em -- better prices than anywhere online, and Elayna's getting into musicals. I'm not a huge fan of the Rigby version, but I know I can't recreate the experience I had of seeing Sandy Duncan when I was a kid, so I figure this will do.
That was followed by the trip to Chili's. I think I'll try to guide Elayna to Bagel Palace next weekend.
