So, I watched all three shows today:

Buffy: Wow. Not the greatest episode ever or anything, but damned good. And possibly the best dialogue the series has had, period. Just sharp, and dead-on. The best parts: The conversation between Wood and Faith, Dawn kicking Buffy's shin, and the D&D game. But really, not much to bitch about. The show ended with a sense of closure, and I'm happy.

Poor Anya, though. *sniff*

Smallville: Now this was ten pounds of crap in a five-pound bag. Where to begin -- the out-of-character crap from Jonathan and Chloe? The logistics of a wedding with no power and no best man (and no comments about either one)? The fact that Lana managed to suck the life out of the show whenever she was on?

On the plus side, it was a good episode for Pete, at least. And having General Zod do the voice of Jor-El was a nice piece of stunt casting. And Lionel was fun (and having Lionel conspire with Lex's wife to kill him is fun, in a soap-opera-ish way). . But really, that was about it.

Next season: Lex is rescued by a young blond hunk named Arthur, who takes him to his home beneath the sea, where we get underwater Lex/Aquaman slash.

Gilmore Girls: Damned solid. I can bitch about Lane having almost no resolution to her plotline, but that's about it. Rory was great on this episode, as were all Gilmores. Paris was wonderful (I love the way they've established that her parents have so little meaning for her compared to the maid, not to mention her love for the maid's family). Luke was great (although the dream sequence has potential for suckitude). The Max plotline has apparently been dropped, but that's okay, as it sucked (and Lorelai runs from her problems, anyway). The money issues are resolved in a way that makes sense and is in character. Rory gets the needed closure with both of her exes. Pretty much everything is in the position it should be. I'm really looking forward to next year (although Paris had better be at Yale, dammit!).

I'm hoping that's misinformation. If he is on Angel next season, I agree that he should be soulless and evil. I miss soulless, evil Spike.

My friend Jasen thinks that the events of the latter half of the episode are just visions given to Clark by the spaceship to show him the consequences of rejecting Jor-El's guidance. I would be annoyed to find out that it was all a dream, but it might be interesting to have a guest appearance by Patrick Duffy as Bobby Ewing in a steamy shower scene with Clark.

RE: Smallville, scenes from our house:

[livejournal.com profile] melintur"Does she have a knothole?"

Plus, B and I squealed like little girls when Clark and Lana kissed, gross! Too much tongue for me, thanks. Ew. Smallville regresses me to about 14 years old, all I want is to beat up Lana after school, make eyes at Clark, and be Chloe's best friend so I can ride in her cool car and braid her hair.

That was the worst kissing I have ever seen! Ugh! I wonder if it was the director or the actors who are to blame.

A friend postulated that perhaps the amulet had a curse on it from Wolfram & Hart. Perhaps they were trying to capture Angel's soul or something. So maybe Spike can easily be ressurected somehow.

Oh well. We'll see in a few months.

Not misinformation. Confirmed. Go to http://www.thewb.com/ and click the link for the 2003-2004 season. JM is on the cast list, and Charisma Carpenter isn't.

Which makes me very happy. The best parts of Angel this season were when Cordy was in a coma and Connor was off-screen.

I didn't see the episode, but I have to pipe up on this one. Much worse kissing was a}Kelso and Stiffler porn kissing in "Dude, Where's My Car," and b)the cute little Mormons doing the same thing at the end of "Orgasmo."

*shudder*

Oh, you've made me so happy!!! I hadn't heard about Spike being on Angel. That was my HUGEST disappiontment, so now I can relax till the Fall. I mean, Anya dying sucked, but there's always hope for bringing her back as a demon. Spike - that was a serious stake through the heart, even if it *was* a noble death. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

And I have *never* liked Cordy. The multiple alien/demonic pregnancies certainly didn't help. The coma was her best acting yet.

Yay!
