So, having had the headache from hell on Friday, I crashed at about 6, and woke up at about 7 on Saturday morning. Ick.

On the plus side, the headache was mostly gone.

Still, I took it easy most of the day. Went to Book Nook, picked up a huge run of JSA as well as a few other nifty books (including a cookbook for Elayna). I then headed home, attempted to bake a better pumpkin pie than the lame off-the-can one I made on Thursday (and was successful, although this one is too sweet for my taste), and watched the Mets beat the Braves.

Then, the highlight of my day -- Elayna called, just to tell me hi and to say she missed me. :-) Her phone habits are getting better, although she still needs a lot of work (the whole eating while on the phone thing). She seems really happy -- she'd just gotten out of the pool when she called me.

Having not heard anything from anyone about game night (including not even getting a phone call back from the one of you I followed up with, *ahem*), I pretty much wrote the evening off,

So, instead, I watched quality movies:

First, I viewed Jack Frost 2: Revenge of the Mutant Killer Snowman. This is not a sequel to the Michael Keaton treacle, but rather to the low-budget film about a killer snowman. The sequel was campier and sillier than the original, taking the action to a tropical island, because, like I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, every good sequel must take place on an island. It was a fun flick, exactly what you'd expect (lots of disposable characters, lots of bad jokes by the bad guy, etc). For the record, I only own the DVD because I got it for free. Unlike Leprechaun in the Hood, which I paid money for. :-)

I then flicked on the tv, and HBO, or one of the other premium channels, had American Psycho 2, starring Mila Kunis, William Shatner and Geraint Wyn Davies. It was just as bad as you'd expect. Hell, it was worse. It was probably the worst thing Kunis has ever done (and she was in a Hulk Hogan movie). And between this and Cube 2, Davies has starred in two of the worst pseudo-sequels ever made in a short period of time. It did get mild bonus points for co-starring the cute secretary from Relic Hunter. But it failed miserably as both a "legit" movie, and as a horror movie.

Anyway, that was the lazy Saturday. Off to get coffee.

My sympathies on the last couple of Mets seasons...

Also, bah. Next time. Or come to NY and we will catch a Cyclones game.

I don't know, but I think if anyone needs a vote of sympathy, it would have to be those north-siders who profess to be Cubs fans. Masochists, more like it.

I understand the Games Night weirdness... I had two confirmed attendees, both of whom failed to show. Fortunately I had two maybes that did show up, and we put on a couple of fluff games.

Next Thursday, here, if you want to vBnture out. Best of luck with your own games!

I hope you can give it a try on Thursday! If not, we'll keep at it.
