The potential for League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (aka "LXG", because, well, we were dumb enough to buy "ID4") to suck ass continues to increase. Set reports indicate that Sean Connery, with his vast body of directorial experience, has usurped editing control of the movie. My favorite part of the article is the claim that Sean helps edit plenty of his movies. Which might explain the run of utter crap that was his '90s career.

The ONLY reasons I got to see Sean Connery movies is because I get to LOOK at Sean Connery. That's the only reason. Otherwise, those were movies?

That should have read: The ONLY reasons I go to see Sean Connery movies is because I get to LOOK at Sean Connery. That's the only reason. Otherwise, those were movies?

Clearly you want to be reading Tim Pratt's journal. Umm. If only I could remember where it was. Try http://www.sff.net/people/timpratt. Or try http://www.scottreilly.net/jwalker/, which has lots of potential future of SF/F people listed on it, for more reading enjoyment. Much discussion of LXG (which I'll use cause it's easier to type) there, of the sort you'll probably like. Plus, he reviews (among other things) graphic novels for Locus, so I meant to have pointed him out to you before, but I think I forgot.

The first trailer I saw for League, when they flashed "LXG" up on the screen, I said to myself, "This movie's gonna blow." Bad comic book adaptations make me sad.
