My Halloween costume for this year will be Mystique. Or possible The Thing (from the John Carpenter movie). If I can't find the materials, I suppose I can always be a Pod Person, or maybe my Evil Twin. Or I could rely on my old fallback, a serial killer.

I've also decided that I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year. And I'm not writing a genre book, even (although I won't rule out the possibility of the book going off in some odd direction).

NaNo! :)

Hello. I've just added you to my friends list, hope you don't mind. I've just noticed your name & icon popping up here and there in the journals of other friends, and I came to check out your journal, and here you are talking about doing NaNoWriMo!

Therefore, I *had* to add you. Anyone who participates in NaNoWriMo is automatically cool. :)

Or you could go as a CEREAL killer. I've seen it done. Lots of mini-boxes of cereal with cocktail swords stuck in them.

You don't believe in costumes?

Does that mean there are a lot of nekkid people coming to your Pumpkin Parties? Or do the snacks just seem to disappear out of the bowl after you open the door on All Hallows Eve?

Nah. Mystique can shift to resemble anyone, yeah? And Pod Persons and Evil Twins look exactly like the "Real Person". (Except Pod People eat ketchup on everything, I believe.)

In other words, he's just going to go as himself and tell people he's in a costume. ;) Because he's Yendi like that.

clones?

For a party with lots of RPGers, go as a doppelganger. It would help immensely for that one if you could talk your friends into disappearing for a while, and then coming back and displaying minor character flaws, saying things that other people say, or just not acting like themselves. While you hide.

Is there a backstory on the no costume belief, or just one of those boring ol' I just don't believe kinda disbeliefs? (in other words, explain? I am curious)

As some know, I love Halloween--I can lurch around being a red drippy zombie thing, and rather than being steered clear of, most people, after the initial shock, congratulate me on job well done. I've been stopped in public by strangers, just so they could take pictures.

No matter how subtle the wizard a knife in the back will severly cramp his style.

Watcha gonna do? Hints?

I'd do NaNo, but I already have three projects working and more legal job stuff to do.

Maybe next year.

There's something else you can do if you go to the party with someone else.
A few years ago my friends Tim and Phil came to a Hallowe'en party dressed as each other. That is, Tim said he was Phil dressed as Tim, and Phil said he was Tim dressed as Phil.

Hey I'm doing NaNo WriMo too. Well, sort of. It won't be a novel. But it will be an excuse for me to finally get my rough draft done and have something to show for my time. I think I need the deadline and the crunch.
