I'm really embarassed to admit this, but having read and re-read, and said it to myself in my head about 8000 times, I still don't get it. Is it a Newfoundland thing?

There's a very nifty celtic-influenced group from Newfoundland called Great Big Sea (http://www.greatbigsea.com). And, of course, a famous racehorse was named Seabiscuit. :-)
