So, last night, we realized that of the folks currently hanging out at our house, only [livejournal.com profile] shadesong, [livejournal.com profile] vidicon, and I had seen Meet the Feebles. That meant that [livejournal.com profile] lupaloo, [livejournal.com profile] ashlupa, [livejournal.com profile] elfboy999, [livejournal.com profile] sibylla, and [livejournal.com profile] ryokan (as well as sleeping guest star [livejournal.com profile] bheansidhe) had never been exposed to the sickest Muppet movie ever made. This had to be rectified, of course.

So, after a field trip to Bruster's (mmm, peanut butter cookie dough ice cream), we watched Peter Jackson's third best film (Dead Alive and The Frighteners, of course, although some folks prefer his movies about that ring, which is clearly just a cheap Terry Brooks rip-off).

You know what's almost as much fun as watching a movie about Muppets having sex, doing drugs, killing each other, and performing musical numbers about sodomy?

Watching other folks watch this movie for the first time.

No one can really be prepared for this movie.

Drug-soaked muppet porn was how my friends described it when I sprung it on them with no fanfare. They still haven't let me live it down. Which is funny, because for the most part, they really liked his other works.

Personally, I think Feebles is brilliant.

But if you're talking about Dead Alive, yeah, no one is really prepared for that one either. I still look away at the whole custard scene.

Psst - fix your HTML. "Meet the Feebles" isn't showing up in the post.

Um . . . I saw you mentioned Dead Alive and The Frighteners . . . but . . . uh . . . aren't you talking about Meet The Feebles?

*quivers in hiding in case he just doesn't understand the wording of the post*

Can't prepare for it... so it's kind of like "Gummo" in that respect?

True. I actually find that scene to be pretty funny, mostly because I guess that I've seen the movie so many times that my mind doesn't make the leap that it's chunky vomit anymore. The blood in the custard I still do though.

Except it's actually entertaining, unlike Gummo. :P

::waves:: Hope you don't mind if I add you. In spite of what you and [livejournal.com profile] shadesong subjected me to last night. ;-)

true, Gummo compared directly to shock treatment eithout the electrodes.

it makes me wonder if it was made in the light of the Beatles "Walrus" or whatever it's called.... artists so tired of people trying to find the hidden message that they put something out with no message whatsoever?

The... that film... wow.

Yeah. :) I had to keep from putting harmful substances in my eyes to wash away the retina burn of interspecies fellatio.

Hey! I'm a dork, and I've waited far too long to friend you. But now I'm less of a dork, 'cause I added you. *grins* Hope you're doing well, man.

I love putting that movie in with a group of people and not telling them anything about it.

The same look on their face you were describing is as much fun as the movie.

I too have never seen this thing. But hey, muppet sex and drugs, I'm in. Now, to find someone to see it *with* me!

And by the way, how DARE you flaunt your Brewster's when there are those of us who must do without. Evil, naughty [livejournal.com profile] yendi! ;)

[livejournal.com profile] yendi, [livejournal.com profile] vidicon, and I watched their faces more than we watched the movie. Was great. :)
