This has already been reported elsewhere, but there's a new Sarah McLachlan CD coming out, her first studio album in six years. It's called Afterglow. Yeah, I intend to own this sucker. Her last album, Surfacing, was sub-par, but had two songs ("Sweet Surrender" and "Building a Mystery") that were superb, as well as a few others ("Last Dance," and "Full of Grace" that can hit me in amazing ways at the right moments). And the studio album before that, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, is one of my true desert island discs. There's not a moment on that album that I don't like.

So yeah, I'm psyched.

I really like the first song off it already, though I wish it'd get slightly more airplay.

I've been in love with Sarah since she was being interviewed by WRAS in the spring of '89. About darn time she got some new material out.

I sure hope she can get over the yawn-fest that was Surfacing. (I don't even really enjoy the two hits you mentioned all that much)

I miss the "Into the Fire" McLachlan, the "Sad Clown" McLachlan.

And even though Fumbling was a better album, my favourite is still Solace (http://www.sarahmclachlan.com/cddeets.jsp?a=5).

I love Fumbling Towards Ecstacy. I probably listened to that album on repeat for a year.
