Two links, both swiped from [livejournal.com profile] lordrexfear:

First, remember the Atari Force, Swordquest, and other comics that Atari distributed with some games years ago? Now you can find them online at http://www.atariage.com/comics/. Alas, the actual Atari Force ongoing spin-off series that DC did (written by Gerry Conway and Mike Baron, with some amazing art by José Garcia-Lopez) isn't online, but you can find them cheap in the back-issue bins. Ignoring the cheesy name, it was one of the better sci-fi comics out there (if not at the Grimjack level).

And, there's a Hedwig and the Angry Inch Tribute Album! Proceeds go to the new Harvey Milk school in NYC, and artists include Rufus Wainwright, Sleater-Kinney, TMBG, Jonathan Richman, and lots of others. A full page about the project can be found here.

You know, I'm so drawn in half about the Harvey Milk school. On the one hand it's good because it provides a safe environment for kids to be who they are and still learn without fear of death (at least dying in school). On the other, it teaches segregation to them and teaches the bullies that if they try hard enough they really can get the people they dislike out of their environment.

...another person read Grimjack?

*does the happy dance*

One day, I'm going to rebuild my collection. During one of the purges I did back in the Christian days I trashed an almost complete run of that comic.

*more happy dancing*

Why's a school named after Harvey Milk in New York, and not San Francisco?

I am so happy when my surfing and information transferring can bring joy to other people. Now if only I can scrounge together the cash for the Hedwig album. ;)

Grimjack is one of my favorites as well. John Ostrander was at the top of his game with the creation of Gaunt, Cynosure, Munden's Bar, etc. He's not regarded as one of the best comics writers ever enough.
