First, remember the Atari Force, Swordquest, and other comics that Atari distributed with some games years ago? Now you can find them online at http://www.atariage.com/comics/. Alas, the actual Atari Force ongoing spin-off series that DC did (written by Gerry Conway and Mike Baron, with some amazing art by José Garcia-Lopez) isn't online, but you can find them cheap in the back-issue bins. Ignoring the cheesy name, it was one of the better sci-fi comics out there (if not at the Grimjack level).
And, there's a Hedwig and the Angry Inch Tribute Album! Proceeds go to the new Harvey Milk school in NYC, and artists include Rufus Wainwright, Sleater-Kinney, TMBG, Jonathan Richman, and lots of others. A full page about the project can be found here.

One day, I'm going to rebuild my collection. During one of the purges I did back in the Christian days I trashed an almost complete run of that comic.

Date: 2003-09-27 06:05 pm (UTC)Grimjack is one of my favorites as well. John Ostrander was at the top of his game with the creation of Gaunt, Cynosure, Munden's Bar, etc. He's not regarded as one of the best comics writers ever enough.
