Thrashers center Dan Snyder was critically injured in a car crash Monday night, and star right wing Dany Heatley broke his jaw in the accident. More details are in the AJC story, which notes that Heatley has been charged with reckless driving (no mention of driving under the influence or anything, thankfully, although it's hard not to wonder what the hell Heatley was thinking). Snyder was thrown from the car, and is still listed as critical.

Yeah...I heard about the accident this morning. I agree. What the hell was Heatley thinking? This is going to be a HUGE problem for the team with the season just starting and needing every win they can get to make the playoffs.

I saw a post early this morning about it while sitting around goofing off. That's terrible...and yeah, you have to wonder what the hell was or wasn't going through Heatley's mind. My thoughts are with Snyder and his family.
