I watched Identity yesterday. It was a surprisingly fun little horror/suspense film, with a hell of a cast (John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Rebecca DeMornay). I predicted most of the twists, but was caught off guard by a few of them. It's one of those films that probably drives psychiatrists nuts, but if you check your brain at the door, it's a blast. It was written by Michael Cooney, who gave the world Jack Frost 2: Revenge of the Mutant Killer Snowmen, but it's definitely a different type of horror film (which is not to denigrate JF2). Very worthwhile.

On the Kings of Chaos front (join my army here!), my spy skill is now at level eight. That leaves me looking at saving up well over $3 million to get to the next level. Yeah, I don't expect to be there until the end of the weekend, at the earliest (and presumably not at level 10 until late next week, assuming the current age doesn't end). Then, maybe, I can start working on the rest of my army.

At level 8, you only need 404 spies to get sab immunity. That costs 1414000- considerably less than the 3 mil it will cost to get to 10 and then obtain 101 spies.

I'm at level 6 right now, and looking at three quarters of a million to my next level. Time to start stockpiling turns. ;)

From Rouen's thread.

Found here. (http://www.giveupalready.com/showthread.php?s=a559875686ffbd093a799f2b5077b020&threadid=30326)

Is there a point where you can no longer be Sabotaged?
Yes. At each spy level there is a certain amount of spies that you can train to become immune to sabotage.

Level 10 101 Spies
Level 9 202 Spies
Level 8 404 Spies
Level 7 808 Spies
Level 6 1,616 Spies
Level 5 3,232 Spies
Level 4 6,464 Spies
Level 3 12,928 Spies
Level 2 25,856 Spies
Level 1 51,712 Spies

At each of these levels add 25% to the amount of spies in order to be sabotage proof from Level 10 elves. In the following chart you will see what Covert Action you need to block certain level spies.

Level Normal Elves
10 104,000 130,000
9 52,000 65,000
8 26,000 32,500
7 13,000 16,250
6 6,500 8,125
5 3,250 4,063
4 1,625 2,032
3 813 1,016
2 407 508
1 204 254

---

The way I'm reading it, if you reach level 7 with 808 spies, you are immune to any non-elf sabotage- that is, you have reached 104k CA. I could be wrong in my interpretation, of course.

I didn't know there was a sequel. The first Jack Frost was brilliant. I'm glad he's moving upward.

I *LOVED* Identity, there were a few twists that got me too, and I don't know, perhaps I love it because I wanted to specialize in multiple personalities in high school/early college and go into psychiary.

Rebecca de Mornay isn't in that one, actually. I am sad to admit that I saw it in theatres. I rather like Rebecca de Mornay, she's... trashy? But has the bone structure of the upper class. Charming.

I shall now return to lurking in your journal. Lurk lurk lurk.

I won Identity

Yeah, I don't recall if I mentioned this in my journal or not or if I wrote my review ever or not. But just checking it seems I never did. I complained about it to people in real life... I loved the film but HATED teh open ended ending, although I saw the reveal coming, I wanted a better actual physical ending.

Anyway... I actually WON the film by winning this contest some website was running where you write a treatment for a scary movie, but a new kind of horror. Mine was about a 17th century serial killer... I ripped it off from the Dead Boy Detectives slightly, but made it very very different than what was in that series.

Also... not on topic but... my neighbor had a mindbender in a few issues of Games, but he found one specific for me. It's December 1984. The cover is an image puzzle of a face with the features of Reagan, Bush, Mondale and Ferraro. Al's puzzle is a word puzzle called On Broadway. It's actually called An Evil Cerebral Puzzle. It's quite crazy, but fairly ingenious.
