Variety has confirmed that Miramax has moved the Quentin Tarantino sequel Kill Bill: Vol. 2 from February 20 to April 16.

But I wanna see Bill die now, dammit! :-(

Fuck.

EDIT: And Hellboy just had its named changed to Super Sapiens. Yeah, the entire fucking industry is smoking one big crack pipe.

It's a damn good thing you're kidding about Hellboy.

I didn't realize the pushback wasn't official yet. Quentin was saying back when Kill Bill Vol. 1 came out that there was no way he'd make the Feb release date for Vol. 2.

WTF?

Why change Hellboy's title? That makes no sense.

I doubt the Christian Right would even see the movie, so why worry about pissing them off?

In a clever move, Disney has already moved its Lindsay Lohan romantic comedy Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen into the Feb. 20 spot.

Because you know how those two films would attract such similar audiences...

Really? But the Christian Right just loves being offended! Ten bucks says that they made up half the audience that went and saw Dogma, just so they could burst into outrage on their newsletters next morning. :P

In fact, the best movie concept EVER would be one that bastardizes a popular franchise from video games or comics, deals with heavy Satanic/demonic imagery and says that Jesus had children. You'd get the kids, the fans who are just dying to see their favorite universe destroyed just so they can complain, and the religious right that wants to be offended. You can't go wrong! :D

Heh, that's why I would leave the title, free publicity out the wazoo.

Isn't it convenient that Kill Bill: Vol. 1 will be released on DVD April 13th? What an amazing coincidence.....

In that case, wouldn't it make sense to release Vol. 2 anyway so that the DVD can sell on its coat tails? Or is that just me?

Great. So, between now and April obviously, there is almost nothing I want to go see. In fact, I just checked IMDB's release list, and there are only a couple of things which even look remotely interesting. Morons. They could've made a killing on Kill Bill 2, and then followed that up with a double-feature or something in April when the DVD comes out.

Guess I'll be renting stuff to see the things I missed the last 6 months.
