What am I reading? Medicine Road, by Charles de Lint. Not to gloat. Really. I mean, I've got a professional obligation to get a review done for the next issue of Bookslut, that's all. Getting a CDL novel a month early doesn't make me happy or anything. Ditto the swag they sent (free t-shirt), my first bookreview swag (movie and DVD reviewers have it so much better). Really.

I haven't had the time to post about Angel last night in detail. But my spoiler-free review (assuming you at least saw the previews) is that the stuff with Cordy was handled very nicely. And everything else blew chunks. Just some majorly botched storytelling and plotlines.

Smallville was fun. Although I would like someone to explain why Bruce Adam wears more makeup than Lana or Chloe (and why no one else seems to notice).

Oh, and can I sue Terri Carlin for being a twit? Janet Jackson's breast injured her? Over tv airwaves? How? Because if she can file this suit, I can take Everybody Loves Raymond for everything they've got.

Oh, and thanks for the good thoughts on the break-in. We've got a better door, a locking security door, and we'll be getting an alarm system next Thursday.

Shall we go in for a class action on that?

Oh *fuck*, and did they have to be from my backyard too? Somebody smells money, that's all this is.

If you get the new Michael Marshall book early for review (one month! supposedly!), I will fly down and sit on your couch and read it.

I have a Medicine Road T-shirt, but I'm waiting impatiently for my pre-ordered copy of the book. Of course, I should read "Seven Wild Sisters," because I've been saving it for way too long. Silly me.

I hope it doesn't reduce your gloating pleasure for me to say that I should have an ARC of Medicine Road in my hot little hand any time now. :-)

I must've missed your post about the break-in. Sorry to hear that. At least the loss was relatively small (and limited to your own stuff) this time. And the cat's safe.

Nothing against Max, but have you ever considered getting a dog?

Yay for you about the new door and security system.
I am curious to know more about your thoughts on "some majorly botched storytelling and plotlines".
