Morning updates

Second, there's apparently a lot of pot being smoked at the White House, as Rumsfield is claiming to not remember Blair's claims of Saddam having WMDs ready to be deployed in 45 minutes. Maybe he doesn't remember Blair presenting the white paper to the House of Commons, and the headlines that hit almost every newspaper (even those in Washington)?
Third, for those who caught President George "Dubya" Bush on Meet the Press (in a pre-taped, prepped interview without follow-ups that was designed to make Bush look as good as possible), head here to see Jon Stewart's brilliant deconstruction of the asshole-in-chief (warning: Large .mov file). Take a shot of tequila!
Fourth, since it came up in a couple of journals this morning. Pissed off about the recent abduction/killing in Florida? Furious about the Virginia Albo Bill (which would make having sex with an infant something punishable by a fine)? Want to make lawmakers give a rat's ass? Protect is the first PAC dedicated to children's causes (not to be confused with groups that merely use "doing it for the children" as an excuse for whatever abomination they want pushed through). Join them. It's money well spent.
Fifth, TV. Watched Gilmore Girls last night, and it was good (even if there was way too much Kirk). For once, I didn't spend the entire episode wanting Jesse to get hit by a truck. Also watched the Michael J. Fox appearance on Scrubs (which was probably tanked ratings-wise, since NBC fucked it over to Tuesdays for Donald "Pizza the Hut" Trump). Putting Fox on the best (hell, the one watchable) sitcom on TV is like pouring crack into my morning coffee. Just an amazing performance and a great episode, as always. Also watched this week's Sex and the City this morning on Tivo. Once again, Carrie has the least interesting plotlines on the show, although since her story brought in Miranda, it was still watchable. But for the most part this season, I can skip almost any scene she's in that doesn't feature the other ladies.
Sigh. Just had a half-hour meeting break out at my cube. Guess I'd better post this before I get dragged down into more bs over here.
