From the NY Daily News:

As the questions about his service continued at the White House for a second day, Bush spokesman Scott McClellan denounced them as "gutter politics."

Gee, unlike, say, having your strap-on bimbo Anne Coultier attack Max Cleland, or having your boybitch Matt Drudge spreading a rumor about John Kerry and an intern.

Shrub and Co: Don't pretend you're not down there just because you're too stupid to look up at the stars.

What did Coulter say about Max?

What a stupid kahunta. I'd heard about her but never read her stuff before. I've seen better anti-Democrat rants on Usenet for crying out loud. Does she really think all that spewing of bile will make it so we can't see through her diaphanous argument?

Main point of my difficulty with this article: she thinks Dems are rabid about Bush's service record - I guess she conveniently forgets how Republicans went after Clinton, first for Whitewater, then when they couldn't nail him on that, they went off barking in the direction of his indiscretions with his prick. I mean hello, witch hunt? Sheez.

Do you get the impression this campaign season's going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better?

This is completely off the subject, but I ADORE your icon!

On topic, I agree that the campaign season is going to get worse before (if) it gets better.

Don't pretend you're not down there just because you're too stupid to look up at the stars.

If it occurred to any of them to look up and see the stars, they'd be so frightened of them they'd launch a pre-emptive strike.

So is Clark also part of Bush's company, since he's the one who said to a dozen reporters, "off the record", that "Kerry will implode over an intern issue" ?

The Kerry bit got leaked by other Democrats; Republicans are just running the news.

Shouldn't that be Carl Rove and his cronies? I thought Bush wasn't smart enough to run things by himself. ;)

Clark was backed by the Clinton's, so I'd actually see them as being more behind it than Bush.

The other news groups in Washington have been working on the story for a while, and it was known in 2000 (it's why Kerry wasn't the VP with Gore, they were trying to stay away from the personal problems that Clinton had espoused). That's from.. forgot his name. He ran Gore's campaign in 2000 and worked with Clark for a while (and is probably where they got the info from), who was later fired from there.

The idea that Drudge is anyone's cronie is funny, though, because he's been blasted by Bush and co. as much as by any Democrat.
