Got the latest Westfield shipment yesterday. A few standouts:

Fallen Angel: Fun with alligator clips and electrical torture! Not to mention people impaled with hot pokers. Let's hear it for the "heroine." Yeah, it's a series that would make the average Chaykin lead or Grimjack feel pretty morally certain of themselves. But that's partially why I like it.

1602: One issue left, and we finally get some answers! Yay!

Secret War: It's Bendis, which means it's good. Alas, it's not good enough to justify being quarterly, no matter how pretty the art is. Still, it's a lot of fun.

Ultimate X-Men: Bendis, again. Taking the wreckage that was the Millar creation and making it fucking brilliant. I'm just hoping that the handoff to Brian Vaughn goes smoothly.

Ultimate Spider-Man: Bendis. What a shock. Damned good book, great reinterpretation of the Black Cat.

Exiles Why I'm sticking with this book, I have no idea. Then again, the string of Chuck Austens and his wannabes is ending, and a Tony Bedard (you hear that, [livejournal.com profile] morenasangre?) is coming on board, so it should get readable again.

New Mutants: I'm enjoying this book (bad art aside). Relaunching it as "X-Men: Mutant Academy" seems a bit silly, though.

Sandman Presents: Thessaly - Witch for Hire and Fables: I love Bill Willingham. 'nuff said.

Oh, and as long as I'm writing a comics post, we've got Warren Ellis and Stuart Immonen on Ultimate Fantastic Four starting in two months! Between that and Waid/Ringo on the "real" FF, I care more about Marvel's First Family than I ever have.
