Yeah, it's one of the few memes I'll do. Lyric snippets from the last twenty-five songs (not counting the one in "current music") that iTunes chose for me. I realized (looking over the "recently played" list) that, for once, I went through a long period without most of the more obscure folks I listen to. Very little folk, punk, or showtunes here. Only one artist is repeated here, and I expect most of these to be pretty easy (really, I may have to disown anyone who gets #5 wrong). No using Google, of course. No prizes for knowing all of these, either, other than the knowledge that you listen to too much music.

#21, by the way, is the first music video I ever saw.

1. And lovers war with arrows over secrets they could tell

2. You keep on saying you’ll be mine for a while

3. But there's no cute boys in Decatur

4. Now he won't be my fast gun anymore.

5. Poland, Romania, Scotland, Albania

6. Hey Al Capone, is that who you think you are?

7. And the lamppost can’t stop crying.

8. I know it's awful hard to try to make love long distance

9. Let me out of this cheap B movie.

10. You know that talk is cheap, and those rumors ain’t nice.

11. And if you talk to walls, only walls will answer.

12. If you need help, hang up and then dial your operator.

13. And in my dreams she takes my hand when i make my stand

14. We could stay out late and we would never hear last call.

15. I'm like an addict coming at you for a little more

16. You'll be the Tigris, I'm Euphrates.

17. Still we're often told "seek and ye shall find."

18. You'll have to get up early to be smarter than a whore

19. It's the same desire to feel the fire that's comin' your way.

20. Besides, a name like that doesn't make a good acronym.

21. Do you have to make a fuss everytime we fly.

22. We're baptized in these waters and in each other's blood

23. You walk the road to resurrection.

24. I can't give back what I ain't taken, and I won't give up, if I ain't found.

25. Do the watusi just give us a chance

#20 is 'Pointless, Yet Poignant Crisis of the Co-ed' by Dar Williams

#5 is so easy I won't even bother naming it.

I'm awful at identifying songs without hearing the music.

It's Queen, "Headlong."

Best misheard lyrics from that song: "Get your Russian hands off" or "get your Russian eggnog," or my personal favourite, "Anti-russian eggnog"

#15 is Garbage, but I can't think of the name of the song.
#12 is "Weird Al" Yankovic -- Albuquerque
#1 seems very familiar, but I'm just not getting it.
The rest -- no idea.

I'm very bad at this.

#1 is the only one on the list that I know. It's "Wild Boys" by Duran Duran...gives me flashbacks to my I-wish-it-was-wayward-but-I-was-boring-instead youth.

Isn't #8 "I Don't Want to Be Alone Anymore," by Billy Joel? (Whatever it is, it's from Glass Houses).

#7 - Bad Religion - Strange than Fiction (A big favorite of mine...someday ask me about seeing them live in Germany. It was trippy)

#14 - Great Big Sea - Consequence Free (always a great band...well, except for the most recent cd)

#23 - Paula Cole - Road to Dead (She's still one of the best damn live performers I've ever seen)

"Someone to Watch over Me," Gershwin. Although I've no idea what particular cover that might be. :)

15 is from "Vow" by Garbage; 16 is from "Awesome" by Veruca Salt. I'm now going to go put on "Eight Arms to Hold You" to make sure. And because I haven't listened to it recently enough.
