Please correct the opening sentence of your biography of Rutherford B. Hayes to add the word "second" to the first sentence.

Hayes, for all the issues involving his election, was the polar opposite of Bush when it comes to integrity.

I've got nothing against Hayes, but it's interesting that Hayes and Bush were both Republicans, and both won on the basis of a Republican-dominated committee decision.

Yeah but that was before the transformation of the parties. Strom was a Democrat, for example.

Andrew Jackson won popular vote vs John Quincy Adams, but lost the election. Say, JQA is the US President to have had his father serve in office before him.

Like him or not, Bush does have the most ethnic diverse cabinet.

"One of" would be better. Nobody disputed the election of Bush (by the only people that count, the Electoral College). Hayes was having disputes all the way up to and through the EC. But, it shows that we can have REALLY CLOSE elections, doesn't it!

I don't see having Rise or Powell as ethnically diverse, really -- they're just like the rest of the politicos there. Put Cynthia McKinney on the cabinet, and watch the sparks fly....

I'm not sure that a diversity of psychoses is what any president wants.

Actually, CM wouldn't even add that, as she brings radical paranoia to the table, which is already well represented in the White House.

Or there's the 1960 election - Kennedy only won the popular vote against Nixon by 100,000, the decicive electoral votes could have gone either way, and both sides were involved in blatant vote tampering in vital areas.
