She passed away this weekend (for those not familiar with her, she was the writer of Omaha The Cat Dancer, and had been fighting cancer for a while now.
Ahh, nuts. I met her at a con several years ago, after hours in a lounge, and had a brief but pleasant chat one-on-one with her. She was a really sweet person, and this news bites.
Was Reed Waller going to be illustrating the new Omaha she was working on? As I recall they didn't have the most cordial of breakups.
And what's this about the money troubles she and Jim Vance were having?
I think Reed was drawing the new one. I remember reading the info on their breakup back on Usenet, and I'm just as surprised that they might have ever considered working together again.

She was never anything but nice to me, I really liked her.
