Made the mistake of watching The Simpsons live tonight, which meant that I couldn't Tivo past the commercials (and reading can't completely tune them out).

There is nothing worse than hearing, "From the network that brought you The Simple Life 2 and My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance" and realizing that it's not an SNL skit. It was a preview for Fox's new mom-swapping show. Oy.

On the plus side, Pepsi's low-carb drink has much better commercials than Coke, as they've got Don Faison from Scrubs. Much better than simply taking a Rolling Stones song (a great one, of course) and doing nothing with it.

I missed this episode earlier in the year. DAMN funny one, IMO. I love when the characters make reference to the show itself, like when Moe hangs up on the crank call and says "Well..dere's the origin of dat."

The mom-swapping show looks biblically moronic. The whole thing seems to shift on that whole "white mom in a black house or vice versa" schpiel. Baha. Both races are equally ignorant! Point and laugh! Feh.

As far as the Stones whoring their classic tunes for Pepsi: Ugh. Just one more reason I respect the Beastie Boys so much.

I've been hearing that commercial, unfortunately, and I'm already sick of it. When I've lost enough brain cells that I think a show like that is good I hope someone shoots me and puts me out of my misery. Go Simpsons!

Unless this is a different show with the same concept under a differnet producer, like The Contender & The Next Great Champ or The Apprentice 2 and The Billionaire.

There's no wife swap show on any of FOX's scheduling yet though... weird. I didn't watch Simpsons because I wanted to make sure I didn't forget to change the channel to USA when The 4400 came on and since I have no TiVo and a tempermental VCR (in terms of recording... it plays tapes fine) I missed the commercial you speak of and have yet to have seen it.

Fox is running a show with a title like "Meet your New Mom," where moms are traded amongst a number of families. Can't find the reference on their site, but I read about it somewhere recently.

That said, it's not like it was really Milhouse's first kiss, either.

Not to mention that having the clip with the dog eating the woman's stuff with the "You can't stay angry," which really doesn't fit with any of the other things, really annoys me. It's like they had a clip showing the dog dropping dead from choking on shoes or something, but decided they shouldn't have that in a commercial...
