So, we didn't make it to I Robot. This is due to a combination of Fox stupidly holding their preview at the AMC Phipps (where they can fit up to thirty people per screen, and manage lines in much the same way that Jeff Torborg managed the Mets years ago) instead of the Regal 24, and Fox, 99X, Chud, and the WB giving out more way more tickets than usual (there were over 200 folks who didn't make it in, the largest number I've seen since Ocean's Eleven).

So we said fuck 'em, and headed to Ru San's. Where we gorged ourselves on sushi, tempora, and bacon-wrapped scallops.

I'm now full, and I missed seeing Isaac Asimov spin in his grave.

But if you know Asimov is rolling over in his grave, why are you going to see it?

Because it was free.

I wasn't going. I'd've been yelling at the screen.

Which I'm likely to do at next week's Catwoman free screening, but I'm sure I won't be the only one.

See? Even 'song won't go for free. ;)

It's the principle of the thing for me. Even if it's free, if it's going to destroy one of my all time favorite stories, why on earth would I see it?

If they had even named it something different and just said "based on a concept by Isaac Asimov", I'd be okay.

Asimov's got a ways to go yet. He's not moving at anything like the speed of Heinlein, Dick or Lovecraft (who will hopefully return from his grave soon leading an army of ghouls to drag away the hopeless fools who did the Unnameable and named it!

Okay, name one good film based on Heinlein. The only ones I can think of right now are Puppet Masters and Starshit Troopers, though I admit to a nagging feeling I've forgotten something (though it's a rare day when I don't have that feeling)

Oh, and I had forgotten Bicentennial Man. So I suppose he is cranking up to a good speed.

I'm missing my I, Robot screening tonight so I can go see the Howard Shore Philadelphia Orchestra LOTR concert. Yehaa!

Mmmm, sushi.

I had to settle for watching American Chopper (where they're building an I, Robot bike - don't you just love the hollywood marketing geniuses?).

Look forward to seeing your review when you do see it!
