Tired. Overslept. Blah.
For the final time (since the last posts on the topic were on a weekend), this past weekend was Blog-a-Thon. Give major props to the folks on my friendslist who completed it:
shadesong (aka the future Mrs. Yendi), who wrote short-short stories off prompts the entire time. That's 48 stories. She could crash Warren Ellis's page by herself (although most of these were more than 200 words). All money raised by her was for RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network).
theferrett, who wrote (in a private journal for those who donated), essays about all and sundry, including sex, love, drunk driving, and other stuff. He blogged for The National Hemophilia Association.
correspondguy blogged to support the other bloggers, donating money for those who agreed to read and support them to the Wisconsin Humane Society. His essays cover the range of topics from alcohol addiction to coffee to love and patriotism.
All three of these people are amazing writers, and you can still head to their journals to support them.
karlita also blogged all night in sympathy with the others, with added appearances by
museumfreak.
With all those folks staying up all Saturday, no surprise that LJ was pretty dead yesterday. :-)
I know that
yuki_onna will be blogging this weekend for The Global Fund for Women. Anyone else?
I'm still eternally behind on LJ. No chance of really catching up, but I hope to not fall further behind this week, at least.

Date: 2004-07-19 10:34 am (UTC)And I still can't believe I actually pulled it off! Like I told Ferrett, I expected to be able to do like 10-15, then fall back on the "oh my hell the coffeepot is talking to me aaaagh" stuff that I did last year. I can't believe I actually wrote 8,000 or so words of fiction. Five to 10 minute freewrites.
And not all of it sucked.
I'm all *blink* *blink* over here.
And I can't wait to be Mrs. Yendi. *beam*
