First, [livejournal.com profile] dixie's dad is cycling 150 miles to raise money and awareness for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Click on that link for information on the society, the race, and how you can sponsor him.

Also, I somehow missed the news that there's a Clerks 2 coming out!

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] redcrowstudio, I now know about the upcoming Warren Zevon tribute album.

Man, those Canadian Custom Officials sure think about porn a lot
In other news, happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] voltbang, who's older than me, no matter what he posts, and to [livejournal.com profile] ravenswing90.

Sunday was every bit as lazy as expected. Aside from getting sucked into work stuff (but hey, I'm temporarily non-exempt until Emory HR figures out the new Bush laws, so that's not a bad thing!), and Starcraft, mostly just took it easy, hanging with Miss Kid, and relaxing. Mild drama ensued when Miss Kid decided that she hated our (extremely bare) cupboard's limited choice of dinners. After much pouting and writing in her diary, she finally settled on a can of corn and a can of peas and carrots as her "dessert." Weird child.

She also read more of It's Perfectly Normal, her book on the puberty et al (which, in spite of the rabid Evangelical Xtian Looney reviews at Amazon, is a perfectly good book on the subject). This lead to her saying "the head is coming out of the vagina" way more than I ever need to hear. Yeah, she read the chapter on childbirth all right. Most of her questions centered around the umbilical cord.

I'll have to check that out. Brittany recently read Asking About Sex and Growing Up (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0688069282/qid=1093870792/sr=ka-1/ref=pd_ka_1/103-7886381-7151026) but that one looks good, too.

My company's nannyware blocks the View Askew site, but IMDB has nothing on a Clerks 2 under Kevin Smith's name. What's the dealio?

Yeah, I sat in the bookstore reading four or five books before I settled on the one I bought. I had to make sure it was "liberal" enough.

I really like It's Perfectly Normal. I wish I'd had that in seventh grade health ed, instead of the pamphlets sponsored by Tampax, which seemed to mainly consist of photos of unpleasant STDs.

Funny, though, because he listed Clerks 2: Still Clerkin in the credits for some movie... Dogma I think? I always figured he'd do it, just a matter of when.
