Afternoon reading and other stuff
Sep. 15th, 2004 02:03 pmI've been trying to convince
shadesong to write the next damned part of
placesyouhaunt asap. This is why I prefer graphic novels to comics, dammit -- I hate waiting for the next part of a story (Edwin Drood, anyone?). I'm damned proud of what my sweetie's writing here (and having seen what she's been dealing with firsthand recently vis-a-vis all the physical shit she's been going through, I'm even more impressed that she's putting out something this good).
EDIT: She posted the next part as I was writing this post. :-)
It's not quite as deep, but The Onion's dead-on with their piece on Dick Cheney returning to Camp Crystal Lake. Although I personally can't imagine Dicky Dick getting his hands dirty.
Howe's gone! Hooray! Now if we can only get rid of the Wilpons and Duquette, I'd be real happy.
Gmail folks -- watch out for this scam. As always, anytime someone emails you asking for your password, assume it's a con. It will be.

Date: 2004-09-15 11:12 am (UTC)Now I realize that this is a reflection of what's going on in my life, that I am so tuned in to this comment but ... you're amazing. You're great husband material. Reading her work and loving it because it's good (not just because you love her) and supporting her with her writing even if it sometimes makes her into a growly person ... wow. You rock.

Date: 2004-09-15 11:25 am (UTC)Still makes me anxious, though, in the "Do you really like it? You're not just saying that because I Know Where You Sleep?" sense.
Now he needs to write more!

Impeccable Timing Lass strikes again! *nods* The Anthony's-journal stuff just started eating my brain, so I had to go home for lunch and write some of it.
Also - you are the most wonderful and patient man in the world. In general, but I'm saying so now specifically in reference to the physical shit and the way you're helping me through it...

Date: 2004-09-15 12:04 pm (UTC)Thanks, but I also have an unfair advantage -- since I also write, I'm already on that page as far as understanding where she's coming from.
Not to mention, I suspect that a lack of her writing would make her into a growlier person. :-)

I could be biased, I suppose -- I was going through my divorce while reading this series, so maybe it was me. (needless to say, my relationship at the time wasn't as supportive as you and
