Yeah. Heaven forbid that anyone in Japan acknowledges one of the worst war crimes of this century. Fuck that -- the cartoonist deserves a medal.
This would be like Germany pulling a book that mentions the Holocaust, or the US saying that slavery or interment camps were never a part of our history. There's not a nation that doesn't have some atrocities in their histories (although this is a pretty major one), but it only reflects on the present state of the nation if they still insist on denying those atrocities.

Where to start? The part where Bush says that anyone who's unemployed is uneducated and unskilled and needs to go back to college? The part where he says he's just not concerned about Bin Ladin? The part where the moderator, in lieu of actually sucking George's penis live on national TV, simply fails to mention the environment at all in the only all-domestic debate?
This one is mitigated by the fact that the more Bush says like this, the less anyone can pretend he's anything other than a rich imbecile with too much power.
3. The shit just hit the fan in a major way with a server at work. It's the result of a chain reaction of various fans and piles of shit. I'm pretty sure I know where the original flying poo originates from though. So I'll be not very on LJ for much of the day.

"Well obviously is isn't enough, as we still have these problems..."
I laughed. Hard. It's the little things like that which make me happy.

Date: 2004-10-14 07:10 am (UTC)Come on, dude. The environment is a total non-issue in this election. People are more concerned about the bigger picture.

Date: 2004-10-14 10:16 am (UTC)I do admit, I heard that question and went WTF? The rest of the questions were pretty decent. I did see a couple softballs thrown Kerry's way. And I couldn't believe that the moderator used the word "massive" in describing Kerry's healthcare plan; however, he did it in addressing Kerry, it would have been a bigger deal if he had used it when asking Bush about healthcare.
