Countdown, by Geoff Johns:

There's tons of speculation on who that body is already. I hope the folks saying it's Ted Kord are dead wrong, as losing my favorite DC and Marvel characters in the span of four months would suck.

These are all guys my ex works with frequently. I wonder if he's editing it.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's Hourman. It would go with the "Countdown" theme.

But I guess Blue Beetle is a good guess. He keeps going on about his heart.

It *does* looke like Beetle, though. :(

Dammit. I adore Ted.

I dunno, if you look at the heavy use of blues and the characters there - Nightwing makes sense.

Lost your favorite marvel character?

Like murnkay...

I'm seeing it possibly being Grayson...

notice the one character REALLY out of place? Starfire...

It could also be Luthor.

It could all be red herrings though. Jim Lee says so himself, that the drawing is full of them.

If it's bat girl, so help me I'll cry.

The Batman world has been so full of dead characters lately.... It wouldn't suprise me.

I mean, Robin got his ass kicked but good a few episodes back, and we all saw what happened to Stephanie.

Well, Batman fires Steph, and in an attempt to get back in Batman's good graces, she steals one of Batman's plan to end all the crime in Gotham. And it backfires and starts a huge war in Gotham.

In the end, lots of people die, the Batcave gets located, invaded and destroyed, and Steph winds up dying.

Nightwing is seriously injured, so Batgirl and Robin are currently covering Nightwings city.

It's been a CRAZY fall in the Batworld, as you called it.

There's only one character in the DC Universe whose death would engender such a reaction. It would have to be...

;)
