For those twenty people who saw Down With Love (and anyone who's a fan of old movies should rent it, as it's a perfect tribute to/update of the old Rock Hudson/Doris Day movies), there's an short article on the theory behind the sets over here. It's not quite Monster House, but it's still a good quick read (especially since the look of the sets was so vital to the movie).
Heh. The two really negative reviews at Amazon are both hysterical. Sometimes literally -- "The Director's Guild of America should REVOKE Peyton Reed's membership for this travesty." I can only assume that at some point during the screening, the film rose up and ate this person's dog.
