Educating my child
Feb. 26th, 2005 02:39 pmI was nattering around, fiddling with my Amazon wishlist, and Elayna came in and sat on my lap. After a second of looking at the screen, she asked me one of those questions that just horrifies parents of my generation:
"What's The Compelte Calvin and Hobbes?"
Shit. We've let our child get by for nearly ten years without her seeing Calvin and Hobbes?
That borders on intellectual cruelty. I guess I just assumed she's been exposed to it, but Watterson retired when Elayna was less than a year old.
I grabbed Yukon Ho! off the shelf, and am currently rectifying that mistake.
But I still feel guilty for depriving her for this long.
