[livejournal.com profile] hangingfire notes that Marvel has licensed their characters out for crappy motivational posters (including some ill-conceived ones, like Elektra for "Excellence," Punisher for "Commitment," Magneto for "Possibilities" and Hulk for "Determination," making me wonder why they didn't just add Galactus for "Appetite" or Norman Osborne for "Shtupping the teen girlfriend of your nemesis in a crappy-ass retcon").

Well, the folks over at Bad Day Studio have come up with their own Despair.com-esque parodies My favorites are the AIM soldiers representing "Teamwork" and Spider Jerusalem representing "Compassion."

You ought to do one for "Sympathy" with the passage "You can find it between shit and syphillis in the dictionary".

Who needs parodies when The Punisher is being used to sell Commitment.

But I think Elektra is definitely excellent with those legs.

I guess the really sad thing about this, to me, is the fact that using Marvel Superheroes in an attempt to get someone like me to give a shit about these motivational posters just makes Marvel Superheroes look lame.

"Crush the Enemy. See them driven before you and hear the lamentation of their women."

That's pretty motivational if you ask me.

I noticed that the Punisher poster has been discontinued -- if you click on it, you go instead to the Capt. America "Fortitude" poster. Perhaps someone finally read the damn book?

Even after they abused that "Constantine gives the finger" scene for the movie?

That's a spoiler? Geez. Would it also be a spoiler if I told you that he wears a trench coat and there are demons in it?

If it gives away plot, it's a spoiler, and there's a whole *lot* of plot attached to that scene. In fact, that particular scene is the culmination of an entire story arc...

ffs... I shouldn't even *have* to explain this to you if you're half the comic geek you claim to be.
