Workin' at the car wash
Mar. 12th, 2005 08:04 pmToday was a day of exhaustion and pain.
Morning was spent accomplishing things, which included depositing checks, checking the mailbox, eating breakfast at Bagel Palace (where I tried their new item, fried challah French toast stuffed with pineapple cream cheese), shopping at Publix, shopping at Best Buy where we used
shadesong's bday money for a new DVD player, the second Chobits box set, Go (reduced to $6!), and a birthday gift for Elayna, and then a trip to the Girl Scout store. This was followed by a mad ironing session to get Elayna's patches on the shirt.
Then, we hit the car wash. The troop leader had decided to run a car wash to raise funds, and basically conscripted all the dads to run the wash. Can't say I was amused by that, especially with the little notice given. That said, it was fun enough, as all the other dads are nice guys. But it was five hours of being on my feet. I'd forgotten just how little fun that was. The weather was wonderful, which meant we had more folks coming in, which was great for the troop (lots of money), and great in the sense of passing the time, but damn near wiped me out.
A hot shower later, and I'm slightly more human (not that I ever really make it all the way there, of course).
Tonight, resting. Lots of it.
