Yeah, cold's still here. I spiked a mild fever last night (99.7), but was "normal" this morning. Am basically stuffy and coughing. Not happy.

The rest of Elayna's birthday went swimmingly. We picked her up at school and took her to get her ears pierced. It hurt more than she expected, but she handled it well, and she now has earrings!

Since it was her bday, she got to choose the dinner option, and we went to Mama Fus, where she wolfed down her entire dinner (she usually has leftovers), and had forgotten about the pain by the time we left. She then had nice long conversations with 2/3 of the sets of grandparents ([livejournal.com profile] shadesong's parents and my Mom, but not 'song's birthmom yet), did homework, and then we all watched the deleted scenes and the new short on The Incredibles. The alternate opening is interesting -- they kept some stuff, but there was a plotline involving Supers not being allowed to breed that would have been really fascinating for them to explore (although it would have made for a completely different movie). And "Jack-Jack Attack" is hysterical.

Today's another big day: According to the Diamond Shiplist, Shooting Star Comics #6, featuring a Shayara tale written by my lovely wife, [livejournal.com profile] shadesong, and illustrated by the incredibly talented [livejournal.com profile] xanadumalion, should be hitting comic stores today! Woohoo!

I love Jack Jack.
He reminds me of Archer.

I'm so ashamed to admit I never managed to see the Incredibles in the theater. *sigh* Of course, it shall be added to my son's DVD collection at the first viable opportunity for a gift and he and I shall watch it together. :)

Can you tell the IT guy named Robert Cantone (I think that's it, he's a Unix jockey) that he really doesn't want to work for the financial services place that's making him an offer right now?

I mean, I know you don't know everyone on the school staff but I thought you might at least know who he is.

Mama Fu's is not a bad place, but they have GOT to stop greeting people with "Come to Mama" - it just creeps me out.
