Missed sponsorship opportunity

Okay, I freely admit that I don't get NASCAR, or like it, even. But I do know two things about it:

1. It's an insanely popular event that's only gaining popularity.

and

2. It's perhaps the epitome of product placement, with each competitor a full-fledged advertisement for one major company.

With this in mind, I ask you, why the hell hasn't DC Comics sponsored a car?

I mean, really, can you just imagine seeing The Batmobile in a race? I might actually tune in.

And, while I'm at it, their corporate partner, Cartoon Network, could sponsor the Mach 5.

They have man. DC had a WHOLE exibition racve once with different cars like different JLA members ... the batman and superman cars are there.

They are alternates normally. Because WARNER doesn't fund it, DC does.

My wife? NASCAR fan. I hate it.

I'm pretty sure they did a few seasons back put Justice League characters on the cars for a race or two.

Actually, in the Brickyard race last year I think, tere were Justice League cars, with Batman, Superman, Wonderwoman, Flash and that Martian dude (forget his name). So both cartoon network and DC have been involved...

Probably the coolest part of the Michigan race with the Justice League cars? Greg Biffle driving the #16 Flash car won. Not only did he win, he was clearly the fastest car out there. How apropos.

It was also amusing to consider Ricky Rudd driving the Wonder Woman car, but only if you're familiar with the drivers. :)

The only thing I didn't like was that these were difficult to see during the race. The graphics were pretty busy, especially at high speed among other vehicles.

A few years back they had a Giordano Batman on a car with a purple car with the jokers face on it and were puching the versus thing. it was even advertised in DC comics. Don't remember what year, what driver or what, but I remember the ads in the comix.

See, if NASCAR allowed things like tire spikes, oil slicks, and smoke screens, it'd make the races much more fun to watch.

I'm not familiar with the drivers, but the Flash car winning is so apropos. Although I'd like to think the Superman car would be up there. :-)
