The shirt Boone was wearing, according to Kritstin at E (yeah, I've got a guilty pleasure bookmark or two) said "48" upside down in Chinese.

Just to add to the list of number coincidences.

Is Abrams trying to rival Halo in the numerological reference? Because he's going up against the big boys there.

What's the significance of 48? We know Sarah was wearing 44. We also know that the character for 4 can also mean death.

I think if we knew the significance of these numbers, the mystery would be a lot less clear.

Brother, you're preaching to the choir. I worship at the temple of Marathon. My brother and I spent endless hours playing Marathon over the network (which ended up with me getting tooled on). I would read endless speculation on the Marine from Marathon and Mjolnir Mark IV armor and the missing Cyborg.

Sigh. I was sad when they abandoned the Marathon storyline... but where do you go when an AI essentially ascends to godhood?
