Between mail yesterday, today, and UPS, got a few nifty things:
From
glenn5: Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters
From
techempage: Bull Durham (as well as a joint gift to me and
shadesong of Cannibal: The Musical)
And from someone who I presume is
robyn_ma, but I could be wrong about, Guru: My Days with Del Close.
Also got a gift check from Mom (guess she gave up on the wishlist), and a card from the in-laws.
And thanks all for the birthday wishes yesterday! They were all greatly appreciated!

Date: 2005-04-10 05:01 am (UTC)a) I'm in a crowd scene. I have never actually seen it in the movie, but I remember us going to the old Durham Athletic Park when I was 7 or 8 to be in the crowd scene. It was cold but since the movie takes place in summer, they made us take our coats off.
b) I can actually walk to the new Durham Bulls park from my day job, it's on the next block over.

Date: 2005-04-10 09:32 pm (UTC)I actually got to see the "Second Annual Final Game at the DAP."
When they built the new park, they weren't done in time for the new season like they planned. So the had the entire next season at the Durham Athletic Park as well. I got to see the final regulation game there. Of course, they made it to the playoffs for the first time in years and years that year. So I didn't get to see the final "Final Game at the DAP."
Of course, I'm more a basketball fan than a baseball fan. But that old park had a lot of character.
