Gah. Yes, I'm leaving (on a jet plane) for Baltimore in just a few hours, and still need to pack. Go fig.

Spent last night gaming and eating lots of food over at [livejournal.com profile] jet_li_wannabe's. Came within one stupid mistake of tying for a win on Ricochet Robots with a bunch of us with scores of three (and the leader with four) going into the final round, and in incredibly nasty final layout. The leader called 23 after a few minutes of us all scratching our heads, and I shortly thereafter thought I saw a 16. No one else claimed anything, and I turned out to have miscounted -- it was a seventeen. I suck at keeping track of moves in my head.

Also played Fluxx (won a game, but given the utter lack of skill involved, not something worth bragging about), and Alhambra (got my ass kicked, but still had lots of fun).

Other things that happened this weekend: Finally saw Sin City, which kicked all kinds of ass. Not OMGWTFBBQ Best Movie Evar, but still lots of fun. Also watched Orgzamo for the first time, which was just a blast.

Did taxes, finally, and as usual, hate the fact that we can be getting a refund at the federal level, and still owe a chunk at the state level.

Went to Javamonkey and just enjoyed ourselves for a couple of hours -- lots of good people, lots of good coffee.

And now, I must pack.

My greatest Fluxx moment was winning a game before everyone had gotten a turn.

It's pretty much the exact opposite of Diplomacy. Who could ever lose their temper over a game of Fluxx?

It's the reverse for me. I owe twice as much to Federal as I'm getting back from the state.

Ricochet Robot is another of my favorites though, I too, suck at keeping track of anything over about 10 moves.

How they could put that out of print is amazing (although I guess it is coming back).
