Yes, they're making a movie out of one of my favorite '80s series.

Of course, there's an obvious casting choice for Robert McCall -- Peter Woodward. Really, other than Edward himself (who's probably getting a little too long in the tooth -- remember Death Wish V, with a 128-year-old Chuck Bronson beating villains to death with his walker?), I can't think of a better choice. Just hoping the producers agree.

That was such a great series. Here is hoping it doesn't get butchered in the remake!

ALthough Robert Woodward seemed pretty damn cool in his cameo on Babylon Project Crusade - and the Equalizer tended to out-think his enemies rather than getting all Death Wish on them anyhow.

But Peter Woodward would be cool to see in that role - for the same reason as above - he was awesome on Crusade. Fucking TNT

I never watched that show. If you're a fan, it must have had a depth I never gave it credit for.

Still, it must be said: "Edward Woodward" is a difficult name to enunciate, especially while eating peanut butter.

It's a British show (http://www.televisionheaven.co.uk/callan.htm)- Edward Woodward's star vehicle years before Equalizer. With the spookiest opening credits I have ever seen.

Edward... Woodward... *drool* I loved that show 'cause of him. I think he was my second big Screen crush, right after Rex Harrison. Older British dudes with classy dialects really make me --

Whaaaaaat? Stop looking at me funny.

I caught the movie they did with Callan a few years back...very good..

and of course there's The Wicker Man...

not for nothing Olivier called Woodward 'the best actor in England'

Peter would be an excellent choice...and you easily work Edward in too as say Control or a Gov't guy or an adversary...

Of course, it's such a good idea Hollywood will never do it...they'll cast some feminine pretty boy with curly hair who doesnt even shave yet for the role...

I was slightly past 14 and loved it...it did fall off IMO when it got Quincy disease and decided it had to put social commentary into every ep(though the true death came when EW had to cut back due to his real life heart attack and the late great Robert Jordan came aboard to be his legman and do the more physical stuff for him)...
