You know, I'm sure that whoever came up with the term "humpday" for Wednesday was a hard-working person who really did have the attitude that "if I can make it past Wednesday, I'm over halfway done with the week!"

But nowadays, I think the only people who use the term without irony are the same sorts of people who come up to you at the beginning of the week and say things like, "sounds like someone has a case of the Mondays."

And we all know what to do with people like that, don't we?

The next month or so should be nice, if by "nice" you mean "sucks ass." Major server upgrade, end-of-semester fun, and other nifty things all colliding.

Gah. Love my life.

Last night's TV (which, with Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars, has caused us to rename Tuesday to "Logansday") was fun. A damned solid Gilmore (with some fine Paris moments, always a bonus), with a nice (if typically over-the-top) role-reversal for Rory. The Luke speech to Lorelai after he got fed up was priceless. And VM continues to be just outstanding. Yeah, the "twist" at the end wasn't a huge shock (actually, anything other than that twist would have been surprising), but I love how they led into it. And yesterday did nothing to convince me that my theory is wrong.

Stayed up too late, because I got really into Keith R.A. Decandido's The Art of the Impossible, one of the better Trek books I've read (largely because it's not only well-written, but accessible). Lots of fun, and since it takes place between TOS and TNG, it doesn't force any direct tie-ins to any of the shows (although it does feature ancestors of a few notable characters, as well as a male precursor of Dax). Good stuff.

Speaking of good stuff, yeah, I watched the Serenity trailer three more times this morning. Set to fullscreen on my 22" cinema display. I want September 30 to come now, dammit!

Finally, bad news/good news on the comic book front: The Mark Waid/Mike Wieringo Spider-Man book won't appear, as Waid has had to pull out thanks to being overcommitted (maybe he can teach that word to Bendis?). But Peter David will be writing the book instead (with Ringo still on art)! So the book will still be on my pull-list. :-)
