Adam's D.E.F. Grafton weekend
May. 2nd, 2005 09:00 amYes, not only did I finish the Trek book I mentioned last week, but I downed three Grafton novels:
D is for Deadbeat
E is for Evidence
F is for Fugitive
I liked 'em all, a lot. Yeah, when I get a reading addiction, I feed it. :-) Just checked G is for Gumshoe out of the library (yes, the Emory library has the whole series, including the latest).
Watched a bit of TV this weekend. Caught the latest Ghost in the Shell, of course, which had me very much shouting "holy shit!" Watched the two new Simpsons, which had one good episode's worth of jokes between them. Barely. Caught the latest Andromeda, which was most enjoyable simply for the scenes of Rommie and Doyle (is there any pairing more in need of femmeslashfic on TV right now?) And when 'song got back, we watched the latest Desperate Housewives, which was fun (and actually, for once, had all four leads involved in real plotlines).
And between that, I got crap done around the house (laundry, upgrading memory on both computers, cleaning my room), and played Diablo II for a bit. Have I mentioned how much I hate the online faqs that all assume you're playing on Battlenet. "Oh, you should make sure that you get two Stones of Jordan and the Buriza-Do Kyanon." Yeah, right. God forbid some of us just enjoy single-player gaming. Wankers.
Elsewhere: I may think that George Lucas is a wanker, creatively, but there's no doubt about his commitment to charity and to education. And events like this, if insanely out of my price range, are still a good leveraging of his name and products.
And a robot is attending nursery school. Kids today get all the cool toys.
Over in KOL, there's a nifty new quest, and skill updates to Saucerors and Disco Bandits, but no sign of the long-promised Seal Clubber updates. :-( But I finally got my Failure to Communicate trophy. :-)
More later, when my brain wakes up.

Date: 2005-05-02 07:41 pm (UTC)Oh as to how trophies work, there are various threshholds/actions that will allow you to buy certain trophies. You can find a spoiler link listing them at kol.coldfront.net if you want.
