"This is business. They know how business is conducted." -- Terrell Owens

Business? You mean like signing a contract to get paid $8+ million a year, then wanting it renegotiated a year later or you won't play? Last I heard, honoring a contract was part of how business got done.

Seriously, I'd love to see the Eagles just let TO sit out instead of trading him, then sue his ass.

While I agree with you on general principles (and while I loath TO in this instance), given that NFL teams do not have to honor those contracts, I'm a bit less bent out of shape over players honoring NFL contracts.

But I'm hoping that the Eagles just fine the heck out of him for missing games and practices. Then he can sit out and not have his $8 million.

As an Eagles fan, I have to say I mostly agree with you. There should be no reason why the Eagles have to get hit salary-cap-wise by releasing him, or get less in return for a trade than he should be worth. He was friggin *WARNED*, on several occasions, about the contract he was signing last year... and went ahead and did it anyway. Now, suddenly, it's a problem.

I still expect that he'll be on the field come gameday, just because the first 3 or 4 Eagles games are setups befitting his ego. But even so, I also expect Andy Reid to bench him for large periods of time.

Being from Baltimore and a Ravens fan I'm now LMAO. I do agree with what Stratfordbabe had to say on this issue. The NFL teams dont honor the players contracts so why the hell should the players honor them either. TO is an ass but he is a talented ass that signed a bad contract to get out of a bad situation and now he wants his just due. Pay him what he wants hes worth it.
