Did you see Fraction's CBR bit about it this week?

I heard Q100 was involved with the payola thing (for John Mayer songs, I think) -- do you know if any other ATL radio stations are deep into this?

Marathon! Such awesome games.

I only got a chance to play (and beat, and oh-so-happily-finally-beat) the first two (well, also a cracked pre-release alpha, my real first exposure to the games, but that doesn't really count), but they are the standard I still hold single-player FPS games to (possibly, I admit, because I've never played the Half-Life games).

Their gameplay still holds up wonderfully, even today. It's worth tracking down a copy of Infinity if you can find it, as well.

If I had a machine I thought it would run on... somewhere in the basement is a 7100/66 of dubious functionality, but that struggled at times with Marathon II.

I'm also reminded of the amusing weapon names (unless I'm misremembering or imagining things, those had to be intentional) - the TOZT flame thrower and such. Simple things, but they added to the enjoyment of the game. Oh, and the BoBs. Heh, poor bastards.

If you have a more modern box running Mac OS X, try Marathon: Aleph One.

They all appear to be available free on http://trilogyrelease.bungie.org/ now.

I remember mancow talking about how record companies paid to get their bands played on his old radio station.
