Peter Jennings died. Not that it was unexpected, but still sad. He was a damned fine newsman, one of the last great ones.

yes. i heard him speak once at a luncheon in nyc. he was a damned fine gentleman, too.

Much too young. He had a soothing gravitas about him that Brokaw and Rather never got close to.
