So, I woke up at a bit after 2 in the morning with the sensation that I was falling. That was followed by the sensation of the back of my head hitting the edge of my nightstand, followed by my body hitting the floor.

Yes, I somehow fell out of bed, something I haven't done in about thirty years.

Thanks to the healing power of Spongebob Squarepants (what, you don't have a gel-ice pack in the form of a cartoon character in your freezer for these moments?), my head stopped hurting soon (it was, thankfully, a glancing blow, and it was closer to the top of my head than the nape of my neck), and I soon got back to sleep.

Upon waking up, the pain in the head was mostly gone (it's a wee bit tender if I touch it, but that's it), but my left shoulder has been hurting. It's not broken or dislocated (because, you know, no screaming fits of agony), but it's definitely far from perfect. I can still move my arm, but fully extending it straight up or out at a right angle hurts (although it's definitely not impossible). So no military presses for me (yeah, it's not like I was planning any of them anyway, but now I don't have the choice).

And yes, I know that, given the concussion potential, I shouldn't have just gone back to sleep. But it was 2 in the fucking morning, and staying up wasn't an option, period. FWIW, I'm not showing any symptoms (no vomiting, bleeding, blurred vision/speech, etc).

Why, yes, yes I do. But in my case it's Spider-Man's head. :)

We have a "boo boo bunny". Its really an adorable origami bunny made from a washcloth that you dampen and freeze. I havent figured out how to keep it from freezing onto the freezer, though, hehe. So, I usually keep it dry and just stick and icecube in its butt...er...the loop of the washcloth.

I say stuff like that all the time, too, hehe. "I was gonna run a mile today, but I stubbed my toe. Darnit, guess it will just have to wait another lifetime or so." :)

Hahahahahaaaaa...

All else on LJ is now endless and redundant political ditribes and weather malcontent...

what a pleasure to see someone whose postable thought is the simple (if unpleasant) event of falling out of bed.

Here's to you, sir.
