And yet another group of asshats are trying to put ID into school science programs. One of the morons actually claims that this is a "controversy that is really boiling over in the scientific community." Yeah, right. That's kinda like saying that the designated hitter rule is a controversy that's boiling over in the NFL community.

Dear ID "we should teach both sides" folks:

Sounds good. Let's start with real sex ed vs. "abstinence-only". I'm sure you'll want both sides of that one to get their time in schools.

If the ID-ers manage to make this happen, they'll very quickly realize they've either opened Pandora's Box or unsheathed a two-edged sword, whichever metaphor is most appropriate.

I know the NHL has been really up in arms about the designated hitter rule. I think that's the real reason there was no season last year.

That's the funniest thing Rudnick has written in too long.

Yes, God intelligently designed uas and every other living thing to lead a life of suffering and struggle and then die. That's great! =:D

Thanks for the NY Post link. Tis priceless.

ID. I think my head just caved in. And I'm thrilled that so many folks are willing to make it even more difficult for US kids to excel in the global scientific community. *headdesk*

Mea culpa! That's what I get for hastily replying as I heard my boss coming down the hall.

A quote I was reading today had a Pennsylvania school board member saying "Someone died on a cross for us 2,000 years ago. Shouldn't we stand up for him?"

Um, no. Not in science class. Science is about things you can observe with the five senses. We can't use the five senses to observe God. Therefore, he doesn't belong in science class. He/She/It/They belong(s) in philosophy, religious studies, or occasionally in history class--as a fact of a culture. (I mean, you have to know what was different about the Puritans and Anglicans in order to understand why the former left for Plymouth, or what was going on with the Church that had Martin Luther so pissed off.)

Did these IDs think we wouldn't notice they were pushing creationism with a funny hat? I mean, we may be godless but we're not stupid. ;)
