Still working from home, since our governor remains a otter-felching, crack-smoking asshole, as noted yesterday. But hey, President Bush praised him, so he must be doing something right, right? Note that in the same article, Alabama and Florida make it clear that they never considered canceling school.

Speaking of asshole politicians in this state, we have a local legislator trying to get out of a DUI by claiming legislative immunity. I'm unsympathetic to drunk drivers at the best of times (as far as I'm concerned, drunk driving is attempted murder, and not killing anyone is just sheer luck). I hope the judge puts him in a cell with someone who thinks he's real purty. The fact that the legislator chairs the alcohol committee adds a nice soupcon of irony to the whole situation.

What I find completely amazing is that while Bush is "urging Americans to conserve fuel" he's busy flying all over the country in Air Force One.

Well, remember, if no one goes to school then no child can be left behind.

"His lawyer, William C. "Bubba" Head"

Oh, doesn't that just say a lot. Could be worse I guess; he could be named Richard.

I've heard of diplomatic immunity, I've heard of blanket immunity, I've heard of natural immunity. I have never ever heard of "legislative immunity." I think your rep is smoking the bad crack again. He needs to see the governor about the good crack.
