Annoyingly, I believed Harry Knowles when he said that the original theatrical cut wouldn't be on the special-edition disc. So I bought the lame-ass 'movie and some lint' disc because I wanted both versions. Now we find that the special edition will, in fact, contain both versions. Serves me right for listening to that fat fuck.
The thing to remember about Harry Knowles is that in the end, he's just a fat geek who posts stuff on the 'net. Basically, he's me with a beard and more minions.
Aw, hell. I just bought the damn thing a couple of weeks ago. I loved it, though, so I might have to find some way to convince Kathy that we don't already own it.
I'm already using the "well, we can eBay the ones we've got" excuse on her for the new Buffy boxed set, so that one's probably out.
There's a slim chance I can explain to her what it actually is (which, given the amount of extra material does seem like it verges into sequel territory), and maybe plant the idea to get it as a gift for me, but I think my flat out buying it for myself would be something of a faux pas. And by "faux pas", I mean "extremely dangerous".
