Upton and the other folks on the payroll of the MPAA are trying to slip the Broadcast Flag back through again, this time as a bill rider (since there's no fucking way to get support for it otherwise).

Problem is, I can't think of a single reason besides my complete hatred of increasing government legislation that the technology is a problem.

I mean honestly, the only argument for not having some sort of flag like that is so we can record things. Things that someone else holds the copyright to, things they don't want you copying, only viewing. Makes sense that they want this tech.

The counter arguments that the end user should be able to copy it doesn't have a leg to stand on with copyright laws.
